Thank you,

Installation of camera with transformer.
Not picture but installation of fan with heater and light in bathroom.
Having a carport/storage shed(16'X24') I needed to have the power line raised from pole to house(County Code).
They were prompt on the day of work. They noticed somethings that needed to be brought up to code. They explained what needed to be done, the way they were going to do it and the cost.
I noticed the pictures are not in order. SMUD disconnecting the power line, the electrician installing the raiser, SMUD connecting the power line to utility box.
What was to be expected was the wait for SMUD, the county and SMUD. In this kind of work you are on their schedule and not the other way around.
The electricians did their work on a timely basis.
I continue to call them for an electrical work and ethernet connection.
County inspector after passing inspection on footing and forms suggested that I have a ground rebar installed.
I contacted OldTown Electric Inc. who I had previously made arrangements to run a power line along with two cables for security cameras an Ethernet line to the storage shed part of the structure.
They were prompt, professional and courteous.
EV Charger Installation Services in Folsom
Plugging an EV into a standard wall outlet works, technically. It also means eight to ten hours for a meaningful charge, which is fine once and miserable every day. A proper Level 2 charger needs its own 240-volt circuit, and whether that is a quick add or a bigger job depends heavily on which part of Folsom you are in. Newer construction in Folsom Ranch, south of Highway 50, was largely built under California’s Title 24 EV-ready requirement, meaning many garages already have a dedicated conduit or circuit stubbed in and waiting. Older homes in Historic Folsom, Empire Ranch, and Willow Creek usually do not, and the garage circuit has to be run from scratch.

We check panel capacity before quoting any charger install. A lot of two-vehicle Folsom households are asking for a charger the same year they are running central air harder than ever, and if your panel is already near its limit, that gets solved as part of the same visit rather than becoming a second project later.

How We Approach an EV Charger Job in Folsom
The right approach depends on your home’s age and your garage layout more than the brand of charger you have picked out.
240-Volt Circuit Installation for Level 2 Charging
For homes without an existing EV circuit, we run a dedicated 240-volt line from your panel to the garage or driveway and install a properly rated outlet or hardwired connection for your charger. Works with Tesla Wall Connectors, ChargePoint, and other major Level 2 units. See our full EV charger installation services for the broader scope of this work.
Activating EV-Ready Circuits in Newer Construction
If your Folsom Ranch home was built with a Title 24 EV-ready stub, the rough-in is often already there and the job is mainly about connecting and terminating the circuit correctly, which usually keeps cost and timeline down.
Detached Garage and Long-Run Wiring
Some Folsom properties, especially older Historic Folsom lots, have a detached garage or a charger location far from the main panel. We handle the longer conduit runs and, where needed, a small subpanel so voltage drop and code compliance are not an issue.

The Parts of This Job Most Companies Skip
- We check your panel first. Adding a 240-volt circuit to a panel that is already maxed out just moves the problem, so we flag it up front instead of after installation.
- Permits are not optional and we do not skip them. We file with City of Folsom Building Services and schedule the inspection, so the install holds up if you ever sell the house.
- HOA-aware placement. In communities like Empire Ranch and Broadstone, exterior-visible equipment can trigger architectural review. We help position the charger to minimize friction with your HOA.
- Family-owned, 10+ years local. 226+ verified 5-star reviews, BBB A-rated, and the person who quotes your job is the one accountable for it.
- $50 off Tesla Wall Charger installation, plus free, no-obligation estimates on every job.

Most Level 2 charger installs in Folsom run $650-$1,800, depending on the distance from your panel, whether your home already has an EV-ready stub, and any panel upgrade needed to support the new circuit. Newer Folsom Ranch homes with existing rough-in tend to land on the lower end. Call (916) 307-0990 for a free, itemized estimate.
Yes. A dedicated 240-volt circuit for EV charging requires a permit through City of Folsom Building Services, separate from Sacramento County's process used in nearby unincorporated areas. Old Town Electric pulls the permit and handles the inspection.
It depends on the community. Empire Ranch and Broadstone both have architectural review for exterior-visible equipment, so we typically recommend garage-interior or discreet exterior placement where the HOA allows it, and we can help you understand what documentation your HOA may want.
Not always. Many 200-amp panels have room for a Level 2 charger circuit without any other changes. Homes still running an original 100-amp panel, common in older Historic Folsom properties, often need a panel upgrade done alongside the charger to avoid overloading the service.
A straightforward garage install with an existing EV-ready stub can be done in a few hours. A full circuit run from the panel, or a job that includes a panel upgrade, typically takes a full day. We will tell you which applies before we start. (916) 307-0990 | Get a Free Estimate
